Water Channel on Jalan Teluk Gong Normalized

Penjaringan Sub-district's Water Resource Implementer Unit Head, Pendi, said the normalization is run based on Penjaringan Sub-district Puskesmas' request as well as part of area arrangement.

"Normalization is carried out by tidying up and raising the retaining walls, some of which have been damaged and collapsed," he said, Friday (9/20).

Pendi explained the normalization is run along 40 meter with one meter of width. The height of the retaining wall is also increased from the previous 85 centimeters.

Nine Blue Taskforce personnel are deployed to work the channel.

"Normalization has been running since September 13, 2024 and is targeted to complete in early October," he explained.

He invited residents to contribute maintaining the cleanliness of the channels, especially by not littering.

"Channel cleanliness is important to prevent inundation," he stated.

One of local residents, Dodo (49), appreciated the Penjaringan Sub-district's Water Resource by improving the channel condition.

"Hopefully it will finish quickly and able to prevent inundation," he admitted.
