E. Jakarta Students Participate in Student Exchange Seminar at US Embassy

The East Jakarta Child Empowerment, Protection and Population Control Sub-agency (PPAPP) collaborates with the United States Embassy in Indonesia through the cultural attaché held a student exchange seminar.

It was attended by dozens of students led by East Jakarta PPAPP Sub-agency's Child Protection Section Head, Rachmat Hidayat and received by United States Embassy's Cultural Attaché Assistant, ​​Mary Trechock.

East Jakarta PPAPP Sub-agency Head, Hary Sutanto said as many as 96 students and mentors who are members of East Jakarta Children and GenRe Forum participated in student exchange seminars and other programs initiated by United States Embassy.

"We appreciate the synergy between the East Jakarta PPAPP Sub-agency and United States Embassy in the success of this seminar," he expressed, Wednesday (9/25).

He hoped that in the future, there would be more activities and programs that can be synergized together.

"Hopefully, the synergy and cooperation that has been made can improve and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries," he hoped.

United States Embassy's Cultural Attaché Assistant, ​​Mary Trechock uttered the student exchange seminar was held to strengthen and solidify the 75-year friendship between United States and Indonesia.

"The two countries, namely Indonesia and United States, have many similarities both in terms of geography and national philosophy, namely Unity in Diversity (Bhinneka Tunggal Ika)," she explained.

She hoped that students from East Jakarta received scholarships to study and participate in student exchanges in Uncle Sam's country.

"This is intended to trigger children from East Jakarta broaden their social circles and horizons, thus they can see the dynamics of global social interactions between nations and gain knowledge and experience from foreign diplomats," she closed.
