Coffee Enthusiasts from Three World Cities Enliven the 2024 Jakarta International Coffee Conference

Coffee enthusiasts from three cities in the world, Istanbul (Turkey), Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Hanoi (Vietnam), will join in enlivening the 2024 Jakarta International Coffee Conference (JICC) at the AA Maramis Building, Jalan Lapangan Banteng Timur, Pasar Baru, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (10/22) to Thursday (10/24)

Jakarta Tourism and Creativity Economy Agency's Tourism Industry Division Head, Iffan explained that this is the second time the JICC event has been held. The event was also held last year at Sarinah Thamrin.

"This event will bring various interests of coffee activists. We are optimistic that this event will have a strong economic impact," he said, Tuesday (10/22).

Iffan explained that the three-day event will be filled with various activities ranging from conferences discussing upstream to downstream, business matching sessions, coffee exhibitions and Indonesian coffee stories.

Then, the Indonesia Cup Tasters Championship 2024/2025 which is attended by 31 best participants from all over the country. The winner of this competition will be at the World Cup Tasters Championship in Geneva, Switzerland, in June 2025.

The JICC event also featured a creative zone and live music through the Soundspresso program featuring a number of top national artists. In addition, there is also a special children's zone equipped with a number of game rides and other entertaining activities.

"We hope that this event will become a platform that will further strengthen Indonesia's coffee community," he explained.

Jakarta City Council's Commission B Chairman, Nova Harivan Paloh, appreciated the JICC event. Moreover, the activity is held in an iconic building with an interesting event concept packaging.

He considered that the development of coffee in Indonesia has now gone international and become a culture and has high economic potential. Therefore, he wants event like this to be more encouraged.

"Commission B keeps supporting event like this," he stated.
