Legislator DPRD DKI Dukung Penyediaan Hunian Layak Terjangkau

DPRD Legislator Support Provision of Affordable Housing

Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairperson, Rany Mauliani, strongly supports the government's efforts to provide decent housing at affordable prices for residents.

Pembangunan hunian vertikal

According to her, the Pasar Rumput Low-Cost Apartment (Rusunawa) in Setiabudi Sub-district, South Jakarta could be a solution to providing decent and healthy housing for low-income communities (MBR) with rental prices starting at Rp 1.1 million.

"Current land and house prices in Jakarta are known to be very expensive. Now if you want to have a livable house, land is limited, the price is expensive, buying land and building a house is double the cost," she expressed, Tuesday (11/5).

She stated the Jakarta Provincial Government should increase vertical housing for the community as a solution to the limited residential land.

"The development of vertical housing will also help solve the problem of slum settlements, she explained.

She added the Legislature and Executive were going to hold discussions regarding the development of vertical housing with the concept of Transit Oriented Development (TOD). Because the TOD housing concept is very much needed by the community today.

"We will discuss, perhaps we can make use of it if there is a station, and then the top can be made into a place to live. There will be many places to live that many people hope for," she explained.

Jakarta DPRD Commission D Chairperson, Yuke Yurike added massive socialization was needed so that the government-built flats would be of interest to the public.

"What is certain is that the rental price must be affordable for MBR. I support the Jakarta Government in increasing decent housing for residents," she stressed.
