18,490 Prone to Fall Trees in South Jakarta Handled

South Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency has handled 18,490 prone to fall trees during January to November 10, 2024.

South Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Elly Sugestianingsih, said the pruning was run to give comfort and safety for residents.

"We collect the data everyday," she said, Monday (11/11).

In detail, Elly added, her side handled 2,279 trees in light category, medium by 11,354 trees, and heavy category by 3,483 trees.

Then 627 trees have been pruned and 747 fallen trees have been handled in 10 sub-districts in South Jakarta.

"We deployed up to 10 personnel per tree in every sub-districts. They were also assisted by ambush and park teams," she added.

This month, her side has handled 1,881 trees in October 2024, namely 225 trees in light category, 1,121 trees in medium category, 438 trees in heavy category, 50 trees were cut, and 47 fallen trees.

She continued that the sub-agency also continues to tale mitigation measures during this rainy season by pruning and checking regularly.

"We also cooperate with local government and related units such as Gulkarmat to assist in handling fallen tree," she continued.
