The program held at Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Building Monday (2/12) was participated by 100 participants.

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji said synergy with the private sector is a change project to solve flood impact comprehensively, including the arrangement of riverbank areas.

"FGD is held to build shared understanding and formulate flood mitigation," he said.

Specifically, he added, the FGD discussed about the continuation of Ciliwung riverbank normalization at RW 03 and RW 07 of Rawa Jati Urban Village, Pancoran, South Jakarta.

According to Isnawa, PT Jababeka has delivered its commitment to participate in arranging those areas. The company delivered its commitment directly to Acting Jakarta Governor, Teguh Setyabudi.

The FGD also discussed the MoU draft between Jakarta Provincial Government with PT Jababeka, as well as the housing and employment prospects for Rawa Jati residents after normalization.

By involving private sectors in arranging Rawa Jati riverbank, Isnawa added, it will help lighten the city budget spending.

"This FGD will be more precise in formulating regulations and exploring development according to the residents needs. It can be developed to other areas in Jakarta if this pilot project is maximized," Isnawa  added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Deputy Governor Assistant of Spatial Planning, Vera Revina Sari, hopes the collaboration between Jakarta BPBD Agency with private sectors will be able to reduce flood impact with maximal result.

"All sector collaboration is needed to face disaster. I hope it will run smoothly," she stated.
