Council Supports PT Transjakarta in Adding Electric Buses

Jakarta City Council Deputy Chairwoman, Rany Mauliani appreciated and supported PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) for adding electri bus fleets.

Rany said that the community's need of comfortable and environmentally friendly transportation can be realized through the operation of additional Transjakarta's electric buses.

Rany added that the new electric bus fleets launching is part of Transjakarta's innovative effort in handling air pollution problem.
"Residents will get clearer air to increase their health quality," she added.
Rany continued that facilities provided by PT Transjakarta are also increasingly improving and are friendly to the community, including people with disabilities.
"I invite wider Jakarta residents to use public transports to reduce traffic jam," she continued.
Meanwhile, Jakarta City Council's Commission B Deputy Chairman, Wahyu Dewanto explained PT Transjakarta keeps innovating to be better in providing comfortable and environmentally friendly mass transportation.
"They keep improving to be better. Now they are part of history in environmentally friendly transportation. The target to reach 100 percent of electric fleets in 2030," he explained.
Wahyu also delivered City Council's commitment in supporting PT Transjakarta. One of the supports is giving public service obligation which is increasing in every year to support community mobility.
"But we also give them challenge to provide better services and more routes," he added.
Wahyu emphasized that transportation is a basic need for all Jakarta residents. It is hoped better services will attract residents in using public transportation.
Wahyu also suggested PT Transjakarta to expand its service to Seribu Island.
"We delivered our suggestion for Transjakarta to expand its service in Seribu Island during a meeting," he continued.
He hopes PT Transjakarta can expand its business to other areas with its capabilities and experience.
"As the example, this can be realized by forming a subsidiary," he admitted.
