Additional Nutritious Food Established for 152 Toddlers in Kramat Jati

As many as 152 toddlers received additional nutritious food from Dokter Peduli (Doctorshare) Foundation. The program was held to handle stunting in the area.

Strong cooperation between government, private and community is needed

East Jakarta Welfare Assistant, Achmad Salahudin said the program has been running since July and today was the last day.

"We appreciate Health Agency, Community Health Center and others for supporting this program for the sake of toddlers' health," he said, Monday (12/16).

Salahudin added that East Jakarta is faces the fact of a fairly high poverty rate, as well as challenges in empowering the family economy from the demographic side. This factor also influences the problem of malnutrition and stunting in toddlers.

Because of this, he requests additional nutritious food program to be continued and widened to get more residents and areas prone with stunting.

"Strong cooperation between government, private and community is needed to handle stunting," he added.

East Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Herwin Meifendy stated the running additional nutritious program has provided good contribution in increasing residents' nutrition status.

"The program is not only providing nutritious food, but also educating residents about the importance of healthy food and balanced nutrition," he stated.

He also appreciated to all parties involved in the program.

"Government may not get maximum result without any cooperation," he added.

Meanwhile, Kramat Jati Sub-district Community Health Center Head, Inda Mutiara explained of 152 toddlers toget additional nutritious food, only 88 toddlers attended. The rests will get the food directly in their houses.

"Today's menus were rice, chicken teriyaki, vegetables, and milk," she explained.
