Even though cases of Acute Respiratory Infection (ISPA) caused by the Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) virus handled well, the public is encouraged to maintain good health by following preventive measures such as getting adequate rest and practicing proper hygiene.

Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) Head, Ani Ruspitawati said from 2023 to January 2025, there have been 214 cases of ARI due to HMPV spread across Jakarta area, with details of 13 cases in 2023, 121 cases in 2024, and 79 cases in 2025.
"Despite several cases have been identified in Jakarta, they can be overcome with simple preventive measures and proper handling," she said, via a release received by Beritajakarta.id, Saturday (1/11).

Educational activities were held using interactive dialogue methods as well as hand washing simulations and providing information on how to maintain body immunity.
"Community outreach is also held through Posyandu, Puskesmas, community groups, and health cadres," she continued.
As a form of vigilance, She collaborated with various hospitals and testing laboratories to increase efforts to find ISPA cases.
"From the results of respiratory panel examinations in several hospitals and laboratories, the dominant viruses found are Rhinovirus, Influenza AH3, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) A+B, Influenza A 135 specimens, Influenza B 134 specimens, Influenza H1N1 pdm09 128 specimens, and HMPV from 23 types of agents or microorganisms that can cause ARI," she added.
She also urged all Jakarta residents to work together to raise awareness in preventing respiratory tract infections. She ensured, health service facilities in Jakarta were ready to serve the community.
"If there are symptoms such as cough, running nose, or persistent fever, please immediately consult the nearest health worker. Together we create a healthy and disease-free Jakarta environment," she said.
