Fishermen's Fishing Gear Monument Now Standing on Harapan Island

The Fisherman's Fishing Gear Monument now stands in the waters of the Harapan Island Labuh Pool access, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands.

It's good and positive to attract tourists

This monument, which is 20 meters long and 1.2 meters wide, was built in early November 2024 and completed in early January 2025.

Harapan Island Urban Village Head, Muhammad Yusuf stated the Fisherman's Fishing Gear Monument was built using the Special Allocation Fund (DAU) budget to add tourist spots in the area.

"This monument is completed already and can be used as a selfie spot for the public," he expressed, Tuesday (1/14).

It is located in the waters right in front of his office. To ensure safe passage for visitors, fences were added on the left and right sides of the monument entrance.

"PPSU always monitors, cares for, and maintains cleanliness around the area so that it is clean and comfortable for tourists," he added.

Seribu Islands District Council, Sahdan, appreciated innovation in developing the tourism sector. He hoped, the monument would further increase the tourist attraction on Harapan Island.

"It's good and positive to attract tourists," he exclaimed.
