Inundation Handling at Tanah Abang Market's Block F to Complete This Week

The inundation handling at Block F area of Tanah Abang Market, Kampung Bali Urban Village, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, is targeted to complete on Sunday (1/19) this week.

Tanah Abang Sub-district Head, Suprayogie said the 10 cm inundation has been there for a month. The inundation occurs during the heavy rain in long duration. Allegedly, the inundation comes up due to clogged water channel.

"We received the report from local residents and personnel directly checked the field. There is a clogged water channel and needs to be dredged," he said, Thursday (1/16).

Technically, he added, his side has deployed PPSU personnel to dredge the water channel. Then the personnel of Fire Handling and Rescue will assist to suck the water with pump.

"Our personnel have been deployed since yesterday. Urban Village head leads the technical job," he added.

Meanwhile, Kampung Bali Urban Village Head, Rizka Handayani explained the inundated area includes at RW 01 and RW 02 Kampung Bali Urban Village.

Based on the field monitoring on Wednesday (1/15), the personnel need to dredge the water channel along 20 meter.

"This work is targeted to complete this Sunday since there is trading activity in the area that makes the work takes more time," she explained.
