Perkuat Sterilisasi Jalur Busway, Transjakarta Bakal Terapkan Digitalisasi dan ETLE

Transjakarta Strengthens Busway Lane Sterilization

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) continues to enhance sterilization on busway lanes, providing comfortable and fast transportation services with obstacle-free access.

"We will return to the basic principles of BRT (Bus Rapid Transit),"

PT Transjakarta Director of Operation and Safety, Daud Joseph asserted that lane sterilization will be the main focus in 2025.

"We will return to the basic principles of BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), where speed is our main advantage. Therefore, Transjakarta busway lanes must be sterilized," he stated, Thursday (2/6).

He conveyed, a few steps have been prepared to prevent non-Transjakarta vehicles from entering the Transjakarta bus lane. One of them is by installing Movable Concrete Barrier (MCB) or road separator to close the gap that can be accessed by other vehicles.

"Transjakarta also places officers at the entrance of the busway lane in collaboration with police and military police," he added.

He explained that his side has started implementing digitalization on busway lanes in two ways. Firstly, by using ETLE (Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement) system in collaboration with Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya.

"Currently, ETLE cameras have been installed at eight points to detect violations and tickets will be sent directly to the violator's house," he mentioned.

Furthermore, Transjakarta will implement an RFID (Radio Frequency Identification)-based automatic portal system, allowing only registered vehicles to enter the special lane.

PT Transjakarta emphasized that only certain vehicles are allowed to enter the busway, such as in emergencies and access for heads of state. Beyond that, other vehicles do not have permission to enter the lane.

"Transjakarta doesn't have the authority to take action against violators because only the police or authorized units have the authority. Therefore, Transjakarta collaborates with the police to address civilian vehicles that enter the busway lane, and with the military police if TNI personnel enter the lane without permission," he explained.
