Significant Increase as Transjakarta Customers Reach 371 Million in 2024

PT Transjakarta recorded a significant increase for its customer number last year, and succeeded in increasing subsidy use efficiency.

Last year was the highest of all

Director of PT Transjakarta, Welfizon Yuza said the number of Transjakarta customer in 2024 reached 371 million. The number is the highest in the company's history.

He assessed that this surge was due to various factors, including the opening of new routes, improving service quality, developing digital applications, and revitalizing bus stops.

"The number of customers in 2023 were 285 million, in 2022 were 191 million. Last year was the highest of all," he said, Thursday (2/6).

Furthermore, PT Transjakarta also succeeded in increasing the subsidy use efficiency. Welfizon explained that Jakarta Provincial Government allocated subsidy Rp 3.6-Rp3.7 trillion in 2024. The fund was used to support 371 customers' trip for a year.

The efficiency is reflected per customer subsidy that has decreased significantly. Per customer subsidy in 2022 was Rp 16,800. Then decreased to Rp 11,400 in 2023 and declined to Rp 9,831 in 2024.

"Per customer subsidy has fallen by almost a half in the last two years," he explained.

According to him, it indicates that many people now use public transportation as their main choice.
