Central Jakarta Government to Control Illegal Parking Massively

Central Jakarta Government launches Orderly Parking Month, Wednesday (2/12). Central Jakarta Government will control illegal parking massively in eight sub-district areas assisted by police, army, and state prosecutor up to March 12.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin said his side has determined locations prone to illegal parking in his area.

Massive Illegal Parking Operation in Central Jakarta Intensified

The joint personnel of Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, Bina Marga, Social, PPSU assisted by police and army will conduct integrated operation in several locations prone to illegal parking.

"The operation targets illegal parking on roadside, sidewalk, and parking management that does not comply with regulation," he said, Wednesday (2/12).

The illegal parking locations that will be controlled also include parks and lands without permits. Joint personnel will also control illegal parking attendants.

Arifin admitted illegal parking management will be sanctioned based on criminal offenses in accordance with Regional Regulation Number 8/2007. He also appealed the urban village ranks to provide banners about illegal parking prohibition in several areas.

"The operation could be run in the afternoon or night based on the determined location,"

Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Wildan Anwar explained the roll call of this operation involved 1,334 joint personnel. The personnel then spread to several groups to control illegal parking.

"The operation is run up to March 12," he stated.
