Citizens Welcomed The Relocation of Kapuk Teko Cemetery

West Jakarta Administration's plan to relocate thousands of graves in Kapuk Teko Public Cemetery, Kampung Apung, Cengkareng is well welcomed by citizens. As planned, those graves will be relocated to Tegal Alur Public Cemetery.

The relocation is targeted to complete in December

At least this time 300 heirs of 3,810 graves agreed with the plan.

Head of West Jakarta Parks and Public Cemetery, Djauhar Arifin stated, in the relocation, his party cooperates with West Jakarta Water Management and Cleanliness Sub-Departments to drain and clean the cemetery.

No Budget, Kapuk Teko Cemetery Graves Relocation Postponed

"The relocation is targeted to complete in December," said Arifin, Sunday(6/7).

Meanwhile, Juhri (57), a local community leader welcomed well the relocation plan in his area. However, he asked West Jakarta Administration to re-hold socialization about the plan. Considering, he told, there are still many heirs who do not know the relocation of their family graves.

"Besides that, the government should hold socialization about the future plan, what would this ex-cemetery be made," he closed.
