Then the urban village officials need to convey a warning to the residents, especially those living by the riverbanks, to always be vigilant about floods.
"Currently, the SDA Sub-agency is still dredging sediment in several rivers in the West Jakarta area. Hopefully, this can address the flooding issues here," he hoped.
West Jakarta SDA Sub-agency Head, Purwanti Suryandari added, the rivers being dredged were namely Mookevart, Semongol, Angke, and Pesanggrahan.
"We also ensure that all water pumps are in good condition, including 48 pump houses, 150 stationary pumps, and 70 mobile pumps. All are safe and ready for use," she explained.
He added several flood-prone areas in West Jakarta were RW 01, Kembangan Utara Urban Village; and RW 01, Rawa Buaya Urban Village.
"Currently, the boundary wall with the river and its drainage is being revitalized. We have patched several points of the river sheet pile that were leaking or seeping," he stated.
