Homecoming Travelers Flock to Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal

Ahead of Eid ul Fitr 1446 Hijriah, homecoming travelers were seen at Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal, North Jakarta. There were 1,465 travelers departed on March 22-23.

The traveler number started to increase in Saturday

Tanjung Priok Bus Terminal's Administration Head, Heri Purnomo said those 1,465 travelers were departed by using 152 inter-province buses to several destinations in West Java, Central Java, East Java, and Sumatera.

"The traveler number started to increase in Saturday. But it will significantly increase in next Wednesday," he said, Monday (3/24).

Homecoming Health Posts Provided at Pulogebang and Kampung Rambutan Terminals

Heri explained the guard officers are also divided into three work shifts to support the homecoming season. First shift starts 7 AM up to 2 PM, second shift starts 2 PM to 9 PM, and third step  starts 9 PM up to 7 AM.

"The work shifts are provided to give 24 hours service. 120 to 150 personnel are prepared on each shifts," he added.

He continued that ramp check and health test for bus crews will also be held at the terminal.

According to him, the bus may not leave terminal without roadworthiness and health test documents.

"It aims to give comfort and security for the passengers," he continued.

Heri stated health post is also provided at the terminal to optimize the service for passengers.

"Hopefully this year's homecoming will be safe and smooth, and the travelers will arrive safely and be able to celebrate Eid with their families," he hoped.

Meanwhile, one of Koja residents who wanted to depart to Pemalang, Central Java, Galuh admitted he took early trip to avoid worse traffic congestion. Also he wants to spend more time in his hometown.

"I want to spend more time in my hometown. That's why I depart earlier," he admitted.
