D-2 of Eid, 27,934 Passengers Depart from Pasar Senen Station

Pasar Senen Station on D-2 of Eid, Saturday (3/29) was crowded with homecoming travelers heading back to their hometowns.

"Today, Pasar Senen Station has dispatched 27,934 passengers,"

PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager, Ixfan Hendriwintoko stated, a total of 27,934 passengers were departed from Pasar Senen Station today.

"Today, Pasar Senen Station has dispatched 27,934 passengers with a total of 42 train journeys," he said.

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta recorded that the number of passengers departing from Pasar Senen Station exceeded the available seat capacity, which is 27,156 seats. Therefore, the occupancy at Pasar Senen Station reached 103 percent.

A surge in homecoming passengers before Eid was also seen at Gambir Station. Ixfan mentioned that 21,762 passengers would be dispatched today, with a total of 45 train journeys.

The number of passengers departing also exceeded the seat capacity, which is 21,268. As a result, the occupancy at Gambir Station reached 102 percent.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also recorded the number of passengers during the Eid homecoming period from March 21 to April 11, 2025, which reached 738,591 people, with a total of 1,876 train journeys. Meanwhile, the available seat capacity is 1,047,341.

"The average number of train journeys per day is 85. The average available seat capacity per day is 47,606 seats," he concluded.

In order to address the surge in passengers during the Eid homecoming period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta has added a total of 380 train journeys, consisting of 255 journeys from Gambir Station and 125 journeys from Pasar Senen Station. From these 380 additional trains, KAI has provided 194,260 seats.
