Kualitas Udara Jakarta Membaik Saat Libur Lebaran 2025

Air Quality in Jakarta Improves

Air quality in Jakarta showed an improvement during the Eid holiday 2025.

below the 24-hour Quality Standard

Based on hourly PM2.5 concentration data, there was a significant decrease during Eid compared to previous D-7 to D-4.

Jakarta Environmental Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said the concentration of air pollutants during Eid 2025 was lower than before and after Eid.

The concentration of PM2.5 reached its peak on March 26 and 27, 2025, two days before the joint leave began, due to high residents activities.

The agency recorded the average concentration of six types of air pollutants from nine SPKU in Jakarta, namely PM2.5, PM10, NO2, CO, O3, and SO2.

Based on the data, PM2.5 and NO2 decreased, PM10 and CO tended to be stable, while O3 and SO2 actually increased.

"However, all concentrations of these pollutants are still below the 24-hour Quality Standard from D-7 or March 24 to D+5 or April 6, 2025," Asep said, Tuesday (4/8).

According to him, this year's Eid air quality is better than the previous two years. There was a decrease of 43–75 percent compared to 2024, then the decrease reached 18–69 percent compared to 2023.

"NO2 is relatively stable," he added.

Meanwhile, Jakarta's Air Pollution Standard Index (ISPU) during Eid was dominated by the "Moderate" category. The "Good" category touched the first day of Eid, before returning to the "Moderate" category on the second day.

"This trend shows that low vehicle and industrial activity during the long holiday also has a positive impact on air quality in Jakarta," he stated.
