City Administration to Purchase Land For Heroes Cemetery

The more narrow and limited tomb capacity in Kalibata Heroes Cemetery (TMP) in South Jakarta urged Jakarta City Administration to purchase another land
in order to expand its area.

site in Cilangkap nearby Indonesian Military Headquarter (Mabes TNI),” said
Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama after his visit to Kalibata Heroes
Cemetery, Tuesday (6/16).
Ahok acknowledged, the rest of vacant land in Kalibata cemetery is
about 350 units. Then it is predicted will soon be filled.
“We already enjoy our freedom for 70 years, certainly there are so
many old heroes. They said 3 people die within a month, it means not later than
10 years to be fulfilled,” he said.
As planned, City Administration will acquire a 30 hectare land in
Cilangkap. “Over 30 hectare and we gonna widen the road access ranging from
Cilangkap exit toll gate towards the cemetery,” he expressed.
He admitted that the appraisal team are still working on it to
determine the best offer.
“We count on appraisal team to determine the price, we will pay it
after it been issued,” he disclosed.
