East Jakarta Food Securirt, Marine and Agriculture Sub-agency Head, Taufik Yulianto, stated today's supervision was conducted at Palmeriam Market, Ampera/Kampung Ambon Market, Rawamangun Market, Pramuka Market, and Cawang Kapling Market.
"Totally we tested 78 foodstuff products taken from six traditional markets. Hopefully there will be no dangerous substances on the products," he stated.
Taufik explained the foodstuffs supervision to be conducted routinely by East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency, especially ahead of religious holidays.
"This supervision is important to protect the public or consumers from consuming food ingredients containing substances that are hazardous to health," he added.
Meanwhile, one of the traders at Palmeriam Market, Matraman, Siti (47), admitted that she is agree with the supervision for the sake of public health.
"It can gain trust if our products are safe," she admitted.
