Environmental Agency Handles 38 Tons May Day's Waste

Jakarta Environmental Agency managed to transport 185 cubic meters or 38 tons of waste during May Day on Thursday (5/1).

This number was concentrated in four main points of labor activity. The four main areas were Monas, in front of DPR/MPR, parking area of Benyamin Sueb Kemayoran and Lapangan Banteng, and Gelora Bung Karno Gate 10 in front of TVRI Building.

Jakarta Environmental Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto ensured the waste has been cleaned right after the activity.

"We appreciated the personnel performance. It means inter-area collaboration is important in facing a big event," Asep said, Friday (5/2).

As for information, Jakarta Environmental Agency deployed 1,050 cleaning personnel to manage the waste after May Day. The personnel were deployed with dozens of mobile units.

The agency operated 72 mobile units namely 28 inorganic dump trucks, 14 road sweeper units, 10 mini dump trucks, and 20 mobile toilet units.

"This effort is made to ensure cleanliness is maintained at a number of points of concentration of labor masses. This is a form of our commitment to keep Jakarta clean," he stated.
