Transjabodetabek Sawangan-Lebak Bulus Officially Operating

Jakarta Vice Governor, Wednesday (6/4), launched the new route of Transjabodetabek D41 at Transjabodetabek Lebak Bulus Shelter, Jalan Lebak Bulus Raya, South Jakarta. This new service serves Sawangan-Lebak Bulus route.

Rano said the new route is the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to provide optimal public transportation services for all residents of Jakarta and its surroundings.

City Government Focuses on Transjabodetabek Development

"Service optimization can not be run without supports from Depok Government and its residents," Rano said.

Rano added that this launching is also part of invitation for community to use public transportation. It aims to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution impact.

Rano hopes that this new service can assist Depok residents who do their daily activities in Jakarta. Because the route crossed is an area prone to traffic jams.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo explained Transjabodetabek D41 has 37 km-long route.

As many as 10 buses are prepared to serve the route with headways of 10 minutes and 20 minutes during off-peak.

The fare is Rp 2,000 for 5-7 AM, and Rp 3,500 at 7 AM up to 10 PM.

Transjabodetabek D41 starts from Sawangan Terminal to pass Jalan Haji Mohtar Depok-Jalan Sawangan-Desari Toll-Jalan TB Simatupang. Then enters Jalan Lebak Bulus and stops at Transjabodetabek Lebak Bulus Shelter.

"I believe residents will enthusiast with this new route," he explained.

Meanwhile, Depok Vice Mayor, Chandra Rahmansyah admitted that Sawangan is a densely populated and prone to traffic jam area.

"Based on the data, 40 percent of people who work in Jakarta come from Depok. So, we hope that MRT can also touch Depok as well as other routes from Transjabodetabek to enter Depok Terminal," he stated.
