City Ready to Support Railway Transportation System in Bali

Jakarta Vice Governor, Rano Karno said Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to support the development of a high-speed rail-based transportation system in Bali Province.

It was stated by Rano during a working visit to Bali and met with Bali Governor, Wayan Koster.

"We are aready to support Bali Provincial Government in developing rail-based transportation," he said, Friday (6/13).

Rano explained PT MRT Jakarta as a Regional-Owned Enterprise (BUMD) of Jakarta has experience in the construction and operation of MRT in Jakarta. Jakarta Provincial Government is ready to transfer knowledge and share practices to the ranks of the Bali Provincial Government.

Rano ensured that the  support for the development of a high-speed rail-based transportation system to the Bali Provincial Government will be provided starting from the planning stage, the construction process to operations as part of strengthening cooperation between regions towards an international standard urban railway system.

Rano admitted that his arrival was also to convey an official invitation to the Governor of Bali to attend the Working Meeting of the Governors Members of the Regional Cooperation Forum for Main Praja Partners (FKD-MPU). The activity is planned to be held on June 16-17, 2025 at the Borobudur Hotel, Jakarta.

FKD-MPU is a strategic forum whose members are 10 provinces in the western and central regions of Indonesia, consisting of Jakarta, Lampung, Banten, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, and East Nusa Tenggara.

This forum aims to strengthen synergy in inter-regional development through information exchange, policy harmonization and implementation of cross-regional programs effectively and collaboratively.
