It was stated by Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung during his speech on the Jakarta's 498th Anniversary ceremony at Silang Monas, Sunday (6/22) morning.

"Jakarta never stops improving, development is presented in every corner of the city. It strengthens infrastructure, forms a new face, and becomes a home for millions of people," Pramono said.
Pramono added that Jakarta has a great strength as a dynamic city full of color, manifestation and enthusiasm to advance the nation through cultural diversity that comes from various parts of the archipelago and the world.
"Jakarta will increase its competitiveness and strengthen its position on the world stage ahead of its 500 years old. Major efforts are being run to bring Jakarta into the top 50 major cities in the world," Pramono added.
Pramono explained that Jakarta Provincial Government's development vision in 2025-2029 is Jakarta as a global city and a competitive, sustainable economic center that is able to prosper all residents. This is a comprehensive and measurable policy direction without leaving behind cultural roots and identity.
"Jakarta's 498th Anniversary celebration carries the theme of Jakarta as a global and cultured city which reflects the commitment to growth and transformation of Jakarta as a global city that always goes side by side with culture and local wisdom preservation," Pramono explained.
According to Pramono, culture is a marker of Jakarta's uniqueness, as well as an attraction in introducing Indonesia's face to the world.
"Jakarta has a provision to continue to grow and develop into a sustainable global city through the spirit of collaboration, mutual cooperation, tolerance, and inclusivity," Pramono continued.
The ceremony attended by ASN, PJLP and Jakarta residents took place solemnly. The ceremony procession began with a parade of participants, continued with a typical Jakarta dance, then singing Indonesia Raya.
At the end of the ceremony, the guests and participants were entertained with musical entertainment from singer Rara Idol.
