Electrical Short Causes Fire and Burns a House in Koja

North Jakarta and Seribu Island Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency personnel extinguished fire that burned a house on Jalan Jampea Lorong 21, RT 02/06, Koja Urban Village. The incident was allegedly caused by electrical short.

We deployed 10 firetrucks with 50 personnel

The Sub-agency's Operation Section Heas, Gatot Sulaeman said the incident was reported at 12:25 PM.

"We deployed 10 firetrucks with 50 personnel," he said, Friday (7/4).

20 Firetrucks Manage Fire in Kwitang

He added that the personnel started to extinguish the fire at 12:37 PM and it was fully completed at 1:20 PM.

"Personnel moved quickly to prevent the spread and extinguish the fire so that it would not spread and burn the surrounding buildings," he added.

According to him, the fire incident occurred due to an electrical short circuit while the homeowner was performing Friday prayers. Residents who saw the smoke immediately tried to take early handling.

"One resident got injured while assisting the handling," he continued.

One of local residents, Indra appreciated the personnel for quickly handling the incident.

"They arrived quickly and handled the fire well," he stated.
