KUA-PPAS Discussion Must Answer Basic Needs of Jakarta Residents

Jakarta City Council Deputy Chairman, Wibi Andrino hopes that the discussion of the draft changes to the General Policy of the Regional Budget and the Temporary Budget Priorities and Ceilings (KUA-PPAS) for the 2025 Fiscal Year will be a momentum to direct Jakarta's future development.

responding to the dynamics of residents' needs

He emphasized that Jakarta City Budget must be able to answer the needs of Jakarta residents.

"It is not just about numbers and spending items, but also welcoming the direction of Jakarta's future development, especially in responding to the dynamics of residents' needs which are changing very quickly," Wibi said, Friday (7/4).

Banggar and Executive Review Draft Changes to KUA-PPAS 2025

According to him, the change of KUA-PPAS should not merely be a technical process of budget discussion. Instead, it should be a correction material for the priority policies of the Jakarta Provincial Government.

"I want to make sure that our focus is on the needs of residents. Programs that are irrelevant, have low absorption, or have little impact, must be postponed," he added.

Wibi continued that the budget for strategic sectors such as education, health, basic infrastructure, flood control, and economic recovery must be a primary focus.

He also encouraged each commission in the Jakarta City Council to discuss the budget more optimally, to ensure the fulfillment of the basic needs of Jakarta residents.

"I also invite TAPD to be open and objective in preparing this scheme. This change is not merely procedural, but truly meaningful for the people of Jakarta," Wibi stated.
