Damaged Due to Rain, Roads on Harapan Island Being Repaired

Some 27 joint personnel from Seribu Islands Technical Work Unit (UKT) 2 and PPSU, are repairing the damaged road in RT 02/02, Harapan Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands.

Surely, we feel happy and no longer worried

Harapan Island Urban Village Head, Yusuf said, the repair of this road is a follow-up to the residents' aspirations as many paving blocks are already damaged and also potholes.

"Repair is conducted along 15 meters long with three meters wide," he expressed, Tuesday (7/8).

He explained, those roads were damaged due to heavy rain and tidal wave that flooded the road and the residents' neighborhood a few days ago.

"This work has been ongoing since yesterday and is targeted to be completed today," he explained.

He hoped that it could improve comfort and security for local residents.

"We also urge residents to keep the roads in good condition. Let's look out for each other, and we'll also keep monitoring the roads that need repairs," he explained.

The repair received appreciation from a resident of RW 02, Harapan Island Urban Village, Mustafa (50).

He admitted feeling uncomfortable every time he crossed that damaged road, especially when carrying a lot of catch from fishing.

"Surely, we feel happy and no longer worried. Hopefully, it will last and we as road users will feel increasingly comfortable," he admitted.
