Floods Subside, Kembangan Residents Start Returning Home

About 14 PPSU personnel were deployed to clean up residents' neighborhoods after the flood in Kembangan Urban Village, Kembangan Sub-district, West Jakarta.

We have already returned home

Kembangan Selatan Urban Village Head, Pradana Putra said, the flood caused by heavy rain and the overflow of Angke River in the area has been gradually receding since this morning.

"This morning, it had already receded from a height of 30-40 centimeters and now it has completely receded," he expressed, Wednesday (7/9).

He mentioned, the flood that had completely receded was in the RW 01 area, covering RT 01, 02, 03, 05, and 09.

"After the flood receded, our personnel immediately took action to help residents clean up the neighborhood," he explained.

He added flood survivors had been received aid to meet their basic needs.

"Hopefully what we do can help ease their burden," he added.

One of the locals, Mei admitted that she has been displaced to one of the provided evacuation sites during the flood.

According to him, the local urban village authorities had distributed food and basic necessities to the refugees properly.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), we are well taken care of, and we have already returned home because the flood has completely subsided," he admitted.
