Fire Incident in Pulo Gebang Successfully Extinguished

East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency extinguished fire that burned two houses and six rent-houses on Jalan Rawa Kuning, RT 07/07, Pulo Gebang, Cakung, Friday (7/11) at 6:38 AM.

Sub-agency's officer, Agus Jaya said the fire caused by the explosion of a left unattended stove.

"The fire burned two houses and six rent-houses," he said.

His side deployed 13 firetrucks with 65 personnel.

The extinguishing started at 6:5 AM and at 7:14 AM the fire was localized. The extinguishing was fully completed at 7:55 AM.

Agus stated that the limited access to the scene was the main obstacle for firefighters in extinguishing the fire. However, there were no fatalities or injuries in the incident.

"Six families or 25 people were impacted by the incident," he added.

Meanwhile, Sirmat (42), one of local residents admitted the fire came from one of the rent-houses and then burned the other houses. Residents tried to extinguish the fire, but they failed.

"Thanks to the personnel for quickly handling the fire," he admitted.
