According to him, the use of technology is key to driving economic growth and expanding the market reach of Jakarta's MSMEs.
"Jakarta Provincial Government must have more effort in acknowledging digital technology for MSME. It is important for them to be connected with e-commerce and online shop," he said, Monday (7/14).
August added that MSMEs play a crucial role in Jakarta's economic structure. According to data from the Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS), MSMEs account for 98.78 percent of all businesses in Jakarta.
"Digital technology allows businesses to transcend the boundaries of physical kiosks and enter the virtual space. This allows them to reach consumers from various regions, not just Jakarta," he added.
August also emphasized the importance of training on digital marketing and advertising. The goal is to increase awareness of MSME products and enable them to compete in the online market.
"Apart from socialization and technology training, Jakarta Provicial Government must aslo assist MSME to learn about advertising strategy," he stated.
