Petukangan Selatan Urban Village Head, Thia Mutiara said that before the arrangement, the area was chaotic with many existing damages and was used as a parking lot and illegal waste disposal site.
"Previously, many parks and sidewalks were damaged. Pedestrians also felt uncomfortable when heading to the Transjakarta Bus Stop," she expressed, Tuesday (7/15).
Residents Appreciate the Arrangement on Jalan Delman UtamaDuring the work, her team built a 100-square-meter park equipped with supporting facilities such as benches, segregated trash bins, and sidewalks.
"The work started in May 2025 and was completed yesterday, involving five PPSU personnel," she explained.
She added the park development involved the South Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency. Then, constructing the sidewalk involved the South Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency.
"The repaired sidewalk extends up to 1.4 kilometers to the border between Petukangan Selatan and Kreo Selatan, Tangerang, Banten," she added.
She hoped that this could be beneficial for residents of Jakarta or Tangerang who take public transportation.
"Residents must also care for and maintain the designated area to create a clean and comfortable environment," she stressed.
This work received appreciation from one of the locals, Kemal.
"Indeed, the mobility here is very high due to pedestrian access to the Transjakarta shelter. So, with proper arrangement, it's quite good, and we appreciate it," he stated.
