Residents Appreciate Dredging of Bambu River Channel

Local residents appreciate the dredging of the water channel on Jalan Jati II, RT 01/05, Sungai Bambu, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

RT 01/05 Chairman, Sungai Bambu, Soeprapto expressed appreciation for the swift action of Tanjung Priok SDA Implementation Unit, which has followed up on residents' requests to prevent flooding.

"Thank you very much, and I am pleased because our channel is back to functioning. Indeed, yesterday the pipe was clogged and the water overflowed," he said, Thursday (7/17).

The same statement also came from LMK RW 05, Sungai Bambu Caretaker, Nurholis admitted he submitted a repair request a few days ago, and it was processed quickly.

"Most of it is garbage being excavated. We will continue to remind residents not to litter. We want them to manage their own waste at home," he asserted.

Tanjung Sub-district SDA Executing Unit Head, Neti Heriati explained, the dredging of a 50-meter-long water channel with a width of 80 centimeters and a depth of one meter involves 10 personnel.

"Without waiting long, we hurried to fix it in a day," he explained.

He added the personnel managed to collect 50 sacks of garbage and mud. Locals were urged to contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of the channel.

"These garbage can obstruct water flow and cause siltation. Let's work together to keep the channels clean," he said.
