Legislators Applaud Jakarta Provincial Government's Performance in Reducing Poverty Rates

Jakarta City Council's C Commission Member, Hardiyanto Kenneth appreciated the performance of Governor Pramono Anung and Deputy Governor Rano Karno after Jakarta is confirmed not to be included in the list of provinces with high poverty rates based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS).

achievement worthy of appreciation

According to Kenneth, this achievement is the result of hard work and targeted policies in tackling poverty and encouraging equitable development in the capital.

"This is an achievement worthy of appreciation. Jakarta has successfully demonstrated that with good management, even a metropolitan city can significantly reduce poverty. This demonstrates that poverty alleviation programs have been effective and are reaching those in need," said Kenneth, Thursday (7/31).

Pramono: Jakarta's Poverty Rate Shows a Decline

He added that various priority programs of the Jakarta Provincial Government, such as social assistance, education subsidies through the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) and the Jakarta Excellent Student Card (KJMU), as well as health services through the Jakarta Healthy Card (KJS), have had a real impact on low-income communities.

"Various policies, such as social assistance, education and health subsidies, and job creation, have truly been felt. We at the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) will continue to push for the expansion of these programs and the improvement of their implementation," he added.

However, Kenneth reminded that this achievement should not make anyone complacent. He emphasized that many Jakarta residents still live in vulnerable conditions and require serious attention.

"We still have future challenges particularly in maintaining economic stability and improving the welfare of vulnerable groups. However, this achievement can serve as positive capital for strengthening social justice in Jakarta," he continued.

He also hopes that the synergy between the executive and legislative will continue to be strengthened so that this positive trend can be maintained and Jakarta can become more inclusive and prosperous for all levels of society.
