Commission B Encourages Manpower Agency to Continue Improving the Quality of Job Training

Jakarta City Council Commission B Chairworman, Nova Harivan Paloh, urged the Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Agency (Disnakertransgi) to strengthen workforce absorption and improve the quality of training for residents with Jakarta ID cards.

Training is also expected to include certification

The recommendation was conveyed during a consultation meeting discussing the Draft Budget Revenue and Expenditure Plan (KUA-PPAS) for the 2026 City Budget (APBD) with the executive on Monday (8/11).

She believes that job fairs should be more innovative, for instance, using online formats and expanding the locations, as well as providing a job placement database.

"Training is also expected to include certification from the National Certification Agency (BNSP) and focus on skills aligned with industry needs and the provincial government," she expressed, Tuesday (8/12).

Commission B also requested an increase in the budget for vocational training programs that are in high demand, such as driver's licenses, security officers, self-employed workers, and digital fields. The training program at the Regional Workforce Training Center (PPKD) is also proposed to be increased from three to four times a year, complemented by equipment revitalization and Mobile Training Units (MTUs).

Additionally, Nova proposed creative training to support Jakarta as a film city, ranging from scriptwriting to post-production. Computer operator training, graphic design, multimedia, as well as SIM B1 and SIM A licenses, were also requested to be held again in each sub-agency.

"We also promote studies and activities to prepare Jakarta to become an independent city in the production and distribution of energy based on EBTKE," she stated.
