Commission E Supports Improved Health Services in the Seribu Islands

Jakarta City Council's Commission E fully supports improving the quality of healthcare services in the capital. This improvement includes adding and maintaining equipment and facilities at various service units, such as community health centers (Puskesmas), regional hospitals (RSUD), and integrated health posts (Posyandu), to ensure patient comfort and safety.

The support was stated by Commission E Deputy Chairwoman, Agustina Hermanto or Tina Toon during a consultation meeting to discuss the draft of Regional Budget's KUA-PPAS 2026, Monday (8/11) evening.

Commission E requested that there should be an increase in inpatient rooms and ICU capacity in all type A, B, and C regional hospitals. Tina Toon also pushed for the procurement of specialist medical equipment at Cengkareng and Kalideres regional hospitals.

"We request that the Kali Anyar Sub-Health Center to be included again in the 2026 budget. This budget is important because this facility has been proposed and is greatly needed by residents," she said, Tuesday (8/12).

Commission E also emphasized the procurement of operational equipment for Posyandu and Posbindu in densely populated areas, as well as the procurement of PET Scan equipment at Pasar Minggu Regional Hospital for cancer diagnosis.

Commission E is not only focusing on mainland Jakarta, but also on equitable healthcare services in the Seribu Islands. One of its recommendations is the provision of operational ships for the 570 healthcare workers there.

Other recommendations submitted include accelerating TB control and proposing that R4 category health workers be appointed as Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

"Improving health facilities and services must reach all levels of society, including residents on islands, so that they can get proper and equitable access," she stated.
