Residents Appealed to Use Public Transportation for Avoiding Traffic Congestion on Jalan TB Simatupang

The TB Simatupang area, South Jakarta is experiencing heavy traffic congestion . The condition is expected to persist as wastewater pipe installation work is being run at the site.

Jakarta Provincial Government, through Transportation Agency, appeals the road users to use public transportation. Public can use Transjakarta to anticipate traffic congestion in the area.

Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo, said using public transportation can be a solution to make people's travel smoother and more efficient than using private vehicles, because it can reduce traffic congestion.

Traffic Diverted at Jalan TB Simatupang as Pipe Construction

"To avoid getting stuck in traffic on Jalan TB Simatupang, we invite the public to use Transjakarta which serves this area with various routes, both BRT and non-BRT," he said, Wednesday (8/20).

According to him, the agency personnel have also been deployed at the site to manage the traffic. Personnel will give priority to the public transportation in managing the traffic.

"We ensure that Transportation Agency personnel are on standby to help ease congestion and direct the drivers," he added.
