East Jakarta Aims to Complete Pruning of Trees Prone to Falling Today

East Jakarta City Park and Forestry (Tamhut) Sub-agency is targeting to complete the handling of 127 fallen and split trees caused by heavy rain and strong winds on Wednesday (8/20) by today.

"We also deployed 13 dump trucks, one ladder truck, and one crane unit,"

Head of the East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency, Dwi Ponang Sera, stated that 75 trees fell and 52 were split during the incident.

"We're optimizing the evacuation efforts to get everything done today," he asserted, Friday (8/22).

According to him, fallen and split trees were found throughout the area, including in residential neighborhoods, roads, child-friendly public spaces (RPTRAs), parks, and public cemeteries (TPUs).

"We prioritized clearing trees that fell on houses, vehicles, and obstructed road access," he explained.

Meanwhile, Head of Green Line and Cemetery Division of the East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita, added that 140 personnel were deployed to handle the fallen and split trees.

"We also deployed 13 dump trucks, one ladder truck, and one crane unit," he mentioned.

He noted that residents whose homes or vehicles were damaged by fallen trees in public areas would be eligible for compensation from the Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency.

"The amount will vary depending on the level of damage or loss experienced," he said.
