Hotel and Restaurant Tax Incentives to Assist Businesses, City Council Chairman Says

Jakarta City Council Chairman, Khoirudin supports Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung's policy by providing 50 percent tax incentive discount for the hotel sector and 20 percent for the food and beverage or restaurant sector.

This policy helps business owners much

Khoirudin said this policy is very helpful for business actors amidst the unstable economic conditions.

"This policy helps business owners much. We know that our economy is not doing well. Tax incentives for taxpayers' declining revenues are wise decision by the government," he said, Wednesday (8/27).

City Government's Tax Incentives for Hotels and Restaurants Appreciated

Khoirudin assessed that the Jakarta Provincial Government can still optimie other sectors to maximize Regional Original Revenue (PAD).

"The consequence is, our revenue will decline. But we can increase it by pushing the regional government assets. I really support Pramono's policy about this," he added.

According to him, this tax incentive directly reaches the affected business owners.

"They never received discounts during tough economic times. Therefore, we need to pay attention to them," he admitted.
