Fire on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Sunter Extinguished

North Jakarta and Seribu Island Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency successfully managed a fire incident that burned a three-story house on Jalan Inspeksi Kali Sunter, RT 22/4, Kelapa Gading Barat Urban Village, Kelapa Gading District.

Head Section of Operation for North Jakarta and Seribu Island Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency, Gatot Sulaeman, admitted his side received incident report through emergency number 112 at 2:46 AM.

"Then we deployed five firetrucks with 25 personnel," he admitted, Sunday (9/7).

Gatot explained the fire had already grown large when the first personnel arrive at the scene by 2:49 AM. The fire then brought under control 10 minutes later.

"The fire handling was officially completed fully at 4:23 AM," he explained.

Based on the report, the fire started on the ground floor, where food and gas cylinders were piled. The fire the spread to the second floor, trapping the occupants and forcing them to escape through the third-floor door.

"The incident did not result in any fatalities or serious injuries. Nine people were saved," he added.

Meanwhile, one of local residents, Muhammad Arif (31), said he directly reported to firefighter personnel when he saw the fire.

"I appreciate the quick respond of the personnel and managed the fire for not burning the other houses," he said.
