Hopefully, a bright university will be born in Nor th Jakarta

In his speech, Pramono emphasized the Jakarta Government's full support for the development of this university, including the licensing process.

"I want one day this university, in 20, 30, 40 years, everyone, there will be no issues anymore. So, legally and administratively, let's establish that this university will truly be well-planned. And I will personally help with that," he said.

He also highlighted the importance of education as the main solution to address social and economic inequality, especially the Gini ratio, which remains a major issue in Jakarta.

Therefore, the government runs various educational programs to tackle social disparities. Currently, he has provided scholarships to 707,513 students from elementary, middle, to high school levels.

Similarly, higher education scholarships have been awarded to 16,979 students pursuing undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees. Additionally, the government implements a diploma forgiveness program for students in need. This year, he aims to forgive 6,654 diplomas.

"Why then is this university built in Tanjung Priok? Where, frankly, I have traveled throughout Jakarta, one of the problems that needs serious attention is in Tanjung Priok, Cilincing, Rorotan," he explained.

According to him, one of the main issues faced by residents of Tanjung Priok and the surrounding areas is access to clean water. He also targets 100 percent access to clean water for all Jakarta residents by 2029.

This year, already, since I took office seven months ago, there has been a 5 percent increase, and hopefully by the end of 2025, it can reach about 80 percent. If by 2027, 100 percent of clean water needs are met, I believe this is something extraordinary," he said.

Closing his speech, the Governor hoped that PTIQ University would continue to innovate to improve the quality of education and become a role model for other campuses.

"Hopefully, this campus will continue to innovate to improve the quality of education and serve as a model for other campuses, as well as a source of intellectual inspiration for the future of our republic," he said.

Islamic Quran Higher Education University (PTIQ) Rector, Nasaruddin Umar expressed appreciation to the Governor for inaugurating this civilization campus in North Jakarta. He hopes the presence of this campus can enlighten the community, especially in North Jakarta.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), hopefully, a bright university will be born in North Jakarta. So, not all universities should be directed south. Our society also needs good educational institutions in North Jakarta," he concluded.
