Two Water Channels in Mangga Dua Normalized

Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency normalizes water channels at two residential in Mangga Dua Selatan Urban Village, Sawah Besar.

Head of Sawah Besar Water Resources Unit, Yusuf Sumardani said those two normalized water channels are on Jalan Mangga Dua Dalam RW 12 and Jalan Gang Gatep RT 07 and 08 of RW 06.

"The length of the water channel in two locations is approximately 210 meters. The work has been running since early September 2025. The normalization followed up on residents' aspirations from RW discussions to Musrenbang," he said, Tuesday (9/23).

Channel Normalization in Karang Anyar to Complete October

He added that the normalization of the water channel on Jalan Mangga Dua Dalam RW 12 uses concrete casting measuring 50 centimeters wide and 70 centimeters high.

Then normalization on Jalan Gang Gatep RT 07 and 08 of RW 06 uses concrete casting with a width of 60 centimeters and a height of 70 centimeters.

"We're optimistic to complete the work in October," he added.

Meanwhile, Tarno (38), one of the residents, appreciated the channel normalization since the area was often inundated.

"Thanks for responding our request by normalizing the channel. Hopefully the channel will flow the water smoothly," he hoped.
