Fire Burns 12 Kiosks in Bidara Cina, No Casualties

A fire burned 12 kiosks on Jalan Sensus, RT 01/04, Bidara Cina Urban Village, Jatinegara Sub-district.

It was caused by a gas stove left on

East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-agency (Gulkarmat)'s Operation Section Head, Abdul Wahid expressed, he received the fire report at 1:37 AM.

"We immediately sent 15 fire engines and 75 firefighters to the scene," he expressed, Wednesday (9/24).

Logistics Assistance Dispatched to Fire Victims in Semper Timur

He explained the fire was extinguished starting at 1:42 AM and was declared complete around 3:18 AM.

"Allegedly, it was caused by a gas stove left on," he explained.

Cidara Cina Urban Village Head, Suhartono admitted, he had requested for assistance for the fire survivors.

"For now, they (fire survivors) have been secured at the neighborhood association secretariat. No casualties or injuries in the incident," he explained.

One of the residents, Aas (35), recounted that he was suddenly awakened from a deep sleep by loud noises from residents hitting power poles repeatedly and shouting that there was a fire.

"I immediately rushed outside the house and saw a fire at the Kaget Market kiosks with the flames already growing. Thank you to the personnel who arrived quickly and handled the situation," he admitted.
