Jakarta's Medal Tally Unshaken at POMNas XIX

The Jakarta contingent is getting closer to achieving the overall champion title as of the fifth day of the National Student Sports Week XIX (POMNas) in Central Java.

I ask everyone not to let their guard down

So far, they have won 52 gold medals, 31 silver medals, and 30 bronze medals. This achievement surpasses the host, Central Java, which is in second place with 27 golds, 34 silvers, and 27 bronzes. Meanwhile, East Java is in third place with a collection of 26 golds, 25 silvers, and 25 bronzes.

Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency (Dinsos)'s Acting Head of the Performance Improvement Division Head, Rahman Defiandi, said that despite leading by a significant margin, the athletes must stay focused and demonstrate their best abilities.

"There is still a lot of potential for us to win gold medals, but I ask everyone not to let their guard down," he expressed, Wednesday (9/24).

To secure the overall champion title at POMNas XIX, he explained, the target of winning at least 70 gold medals must be achieved.

"I am very optimistic that Jakarta will continue to win gold medals. Moreover, the flagship sports that have the potential to win gold medals are still being competed in," he stated.
