168.5 Kilograms of Trash on Kelapa Island Cleaned

The community work at RW 01, Kelapa Island Urban Village, Seribu Utara District, Seribu Islands cleaned 168.5 kilograms of garbage.

Head of Kelapa Island Urban Village, Muslim said this community work is part of a collective effort to raise public awareness of the importance of environmental cleanliness.

"Today's activity was participated by 60 people from urban village civil servants, cadres, PJLP, PPSU, Karang Taruna, RT/RW caretakers, and residents," he said, Wednesday (10/1).

Muslim explained that the community work was carried out after the Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony, starting from clearing weeds, pruning trees, to collecting garbage.

He added that this community work could also improve the relationship between residents and the government.

"This is very important because the Seribu Islands are a leading tourist destination in Jakarta," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of RW 01, Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, Sapriudin admitted he was enthusiastic to participate the community work.

"This community work is actually run routinely. Hopefully this effort will increase the number of tourist visit to the island," he hoped.
