"From all these areas, a total of 126.65 tons of waste or around 575 cubic meters was collected,"

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto, mentioned that 2,100 janitors were deployed from five administrative city LH sub-agencies and Water Body Waste Management Units (UPS BA).

They were assigned to strategic areas to ensure the Monas area and its surroundings were clean and orderly after being packed with hundreds of thousands of enthusiastic visitors attending the event.

He explained that the areas covered included Monas, Jalan Medan Merdeka, and several nearby roads such as Lapangan Banteng, Tugu Tani, Veteran, Kebon Sirih, Budi Kemuliaan, Pejambon, and KKO Usman Hamid.

"From all these areas, a total of 126.65 tons of waste or around 575 cubic meters was collected," shared Asep on Monday (10/6).

According to him, various supporting facilities were also operated, including 20 inorganic waste trucks, 22 road sweepers, 20 mini dump trucks, 16 utility vehicles, 24 portable toilets, and 149 dust bins. All these fleets were mobilized to speed up the cleaning process and ensure public areas could be used again by residents.

He emphasized that ensuring cleanliness and comfort in public facilities remains a top priority for the Jakarta Environment Agency, especially during major public celebrations.

Asep also noted that successfully maintaining cleanliness after large-scale events highlights the importance of collective public responsibility in creating a cleaner, more livable, and sustainable Jakarta.

"Backed by thousands of personnel and various supporting facilities, we ensured public spaces were left spotless. We also extend our gratitude to Jakarta residents and visitors who contributed to maintaining cleanliness throughout the event," he said.
