Special Committee Receives Support to Accelerate Ratification of KTR Regional Regulation

Chairman of Jakarta City Council's Special Committee on Smoke-Free Area (KTR), Farah Savira received an audience with the Jakarta Sehat Coalition, which expressed its support for the Regional Regulation Draft (Raperda) on Smoke-Free Areas to be ratified immediately.

During the hearing, she said, her party also collected a number of aspirations and technical input regarding the implementation of the KTR Regional Regulation.

Currently, the KTR Regional Regulation Draft is in the final stages of discussion and will soon be harmonized at the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda).

Smoke-free Regulation Draft to Complete This Month

"There are many technical inputs, such as spatial planning and other things that can be a strong basis for the success and implementation of this KTR Regional Regulation," she said, Monday (10/6).

She added that the discussion of the KTR regional regulation draft is entering the finalization stage. He is optimistic that the public's aspirations for a strong KTR regional regulation in Jakarta will soon be realized.

"There are only one or two more meetings left to finalize this Regional Regulation Draft before it is submitted to Bapemperda," she added.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chairman of KTR Special Committee, Abdurrahman Suhaimi appreciated the support of Jakarta Sehat Coalition. He hopes this collaboration can be continued.

"We hope this regional regulation draft will soon be discussed in a plenary session for ratification. We also hope the Jakarta Sehat Coalition can continue to oversee public participation in the implementation of the regulation," he stated.
