Central Jakarta Administration Accelerates Trees Planting

The Central Jakarta Administration accelerates the trees planting on every Friday to add city's aesthetics.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Arifin together with his ranks planted pink tabebuia trees under the Jati Baru 14 flyover, Kampung Bali, Tanah Abang, Friday (10/10).

Arifin said his side is accelerating the trees planting in the city even though the open space is limited.

"Planting trees in small empty spaces as an alternative to encourage tree planting in Central Jakarta," he said.

Arifin added the pink tabebuia tree was chosen because it can beautify the city, so that the area that is busy with residents mobility becomes greener and more beautiful.

"We hope that this tree planting will also have an impact on increasing the oxygen and improving the health quality of Central Jakarta residents," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Central Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda explained there were 260 tabebuia trees planted in eight districts along January to October 2025.

"Our target is planting 25 trees every week in different locations," she stated.

According to Mila, her side has personnel who specifically carry out tree maintenance including watering, cleaning and pruning.

"I hope this activity will encourage residents to plant more trees in their areas. We are ready to provide seedlings," she said.
