“Previously, the drainage channel was narrow and had limited capacity, which often caused overflows during heavy rain,” he mentioned on Wednesday (10/15).

Yasin explained that for the 23-meter drainage improvement, five Blue Troop personnel and one heavy unit were deployed to assist in installing 60 HD-sized U-ditch concrete channels.

“Hopefully, the work will be completed on schedule and function optimally to prevent flooding,” he added.

Meanwhile, Rawa Barat Urban Village Head, Merinta Hendri, expressed hope that the repairs would increase the drainage capacity and improve water flow.

“I also urge nearby vendors not to litter, especially into the channel. I've asked them to participate in keeping the drains clean as well,” she emphasized.
