Assistance Provided for Fire Survivors in Pademangan Timur

The fire survivors on Jalan Pademangan Raya 5, RT 07/01, Pademangan Timur Urban Village, Pademangan District, received assistance from North Jakarta Social Sub-agency and others.

Head of Pademangan Timur Urban Village, Suhardiman, admitted the assistance has been distributed in the morning. The fire incident burned three semi-permanent houses.

"Basic needs and money from Baznas Bazis have also been distributed," he admitted, Wednesday (10/15).

Suhardiman explained that the aid distributed to residents included three plastic mats, six bottles of adult soap and shampoo, eight toothbrushes and toothpaste, three bottles of soy sauce, three Muslim clothes, three prayer robes, and three goodie bags. Three sacks of rice, 10 canned fish, 12 packs of biscuits, three boxes of instant noodles, and 3 liters of cooking oil were also provided.

"There are no refugee posts because they took refuge in the homes of relatives and friends," he added.

Suhardiman added that four residents died in the fire, namely Saniah (55), Sumiatun (20), Ais (11), and Udin (2). Their bodies have been taken to RSCM and will be buried in their hometown, Madura.

Meanwhile, North Jakarta and Seribu Islands Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency Duty Officer, Idrisman, explained the incident happened at 3:55 AM. The fire is believed to have been sparked by a spark while one of the homeowners was working on burning copper. The flames then caught on Styrofoam and immediately spread to a nearby semi-permanent house.

"At the time of the incident, some residents were still asleep so they were unable to save themselves because the fire had already gotten bigger," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the fire survivors, Sri (48) thanked all parties for providing the assistances.

"Thanks for providing us this useful assistances," she stated.
